My name is Roshelle. The woman behind “Married and Cooking.” Besides graduating from the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE), I’ve worked in various restaurants, and various other food related events. My love for cooking came at the tender age of 6. I remembered watching both my mother and grandmother preparing meals in our kitchen. When I was tall enough to finally stand at the stove, I tried my first dish; fried chicken and plain white rice. The end result of the finish product was inedible. The rice was hard and the chicken was still raw…lol. It was at that moment I knew what I wanted to do. Since that day I would return home with my lunch money for my mom to purchase ingredients and teach me how to cook.
When it comes to food I do my best to use the finest and freshest ingredients and shopping locally whenever I can. I strive for perfection and nothing less!
A few years ago a friend and I were talking about the importance of cooking in a marriage, and what she said completely floored me. While at the time I completely disagreed with her, I did all I could to convince her that being able to cook just about anything is an absolutely great feeling. It is truly amazing when you are able to look at something you’ve created and feeling accomplished. While many men and women are intimidated by the thought of cooking, simply because they believe it is too difficult of a task or by the simple fact that they never had the chance to learn; cooking is something I believe everyone should try. It can be very rewarding. You never know you just might love it :).
My husband and I got married a few years ago and I thought a lot about where I wanted to take my culinary career, so I started to think about the things we enjoy the most and how much we both love food. We’re both huge foodies, and just about every and anything we do or talk about is food related, so I decided to put the two together by starting my own food blog. It was at that moment “Married and Cooking” was born.
I wanted something that everyone, especially women can relate to. My goal here is to create a food blog that shows you cooking can be easy, fun and sexy all at the same time.
Whether you’re a novice, beginner or immediate at cooking; I hope that “Married and Cooking” will be able to help you to be more confident in creating fun style, great tasting dishes for your family, home parties, and even a little get together for your children and their friends.
With all that’s said, I would like to say WELCOME TO “MARRIED AND COOKING,” RELAX, ENJOY, AND HAVE FUN WITH THE DISHES YOU CREATE WITH TWO THINGS IN MIND, ALWAYS KNOWING THAT COOKING CAN BE FUN AND SIMPLE!
NEVER YUCK SOME ELSE’S YUM!
